New forest fires in France force evacuation
Paris, July 28 (SocialNews.XYZ) Forest fires in the French department of Ardèche have burned 900 hectares of land and forced evacuations in different towns.
According to the newspaper Le Figaro, a total of 550 firefighters and 100 intervention vehicles, as well as air units of firefighters, were mobilized to control the forest fires, reports the Xinhua press agency.
The main fire continues to progress along the Ardèche river and is heading towards the town of Vogue where the Ardèche firefighters are located, according to local authorities.
There are no “threatened homes” and the Lavilledieu industrial zone has been “secured”, the authorities said.
Several roads have been closed and an investigation is underway to determine the cause of the fires.
